Students love stories and I would encourage you to continue with that practice, Lisa. As you said it builds interest and excitement for the job when they finish their program.
Creating the situations cards allows your learners a safe environment to practice and interact. I'm sure you get great results and I know your students must be grateful. Thanks for sharing.

I love the nerf ball idea. Students helping students builds confidence and cooperation and will serve them well when asked to work with a variety of people on the job.

Christine, you are smart to plan activities and not just lecture. Many instructors do not know how to do this, but you have mastered it.

Make a sheet of paper with 25 squares on it, 5 across and 5 down. In some of the boxes place terms and in some definitions. Using the same items make 2 other cards, but put the items in different places. Copy the 3 cards into as many copies as you have students. In a fishbowl, write down the opposite items to match the cards (such as if you wrote a term on the card, write the definition on the paper for the fishbowl). Randomly pull items from your fishbowl and read them. The students must X off the match… >>>

It's great to use the textbook companion cd, Saria. Good luck with the mystery word. You'll be surprised how curiosity motivates them to participate.
I love that the same words are used but different inflections. What a difference that can make! The reusable concentration props are also a great idea. Good luck in all you do, Vickie!

Allowing the player to request a base or yardage is a smart approach. You students must leave your classes feeling successful and happy!
Georgeann, thanks for sharing your idea. I use a sheet on the floor and have them walk the path of cardiac circualtion, but chalk seems easier. Keep up the good work
Scott, I love your "question bee" approach described above. I particularly like that you ask the learners to write the questions, it is a great way to get them to take ownership of the content. Interaction is the key to learning, as you demonstrated here! Thanks for sharing.
