Activity

It is important to remember that the students have more going on in their lives that what is within the walls of the classroom.  Helping with those soft skills and acknowledging the extrinsic needs of the students will go a long way with developing their intrinsic needs.

Break up lessons into 15 minute sections with activities, games, questions, or case studies between sessions to ensure we don't lecture beyond the attention span of our students.

It is important to get to know your students.  Learning their names is important, but learn a little more about them too.  Learn why they are entering the profession, what their background it, hobbies, ets.

Prepare...prepare...prepare.
This module has taught me to always be prepared.  More importantly, it taught me to interact with the students so that they see me as a real person.  I am not to become their pal, but rather a real person.

Being an instructor is more than just disiminating information.  To be a successful instructor I have to remember to show compassion, I need to be commited to my students, and I need to remember that I am modeling professional behavior to my students. I need to be excited about the content and opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences.  I need to be willing to better myself for the good of the students.
