Activity

I learned that student engagement in online education requires intentional planning. I plan to use active learning strategies, rubrics, and structured feedback to support student growth and learning.

Use rubrics, provide meaningful feedback, and set the tone for clear communication. Align the rubrics with the course objectives to support student learning.

Active learning requires thoughtful planning. I plan to use active learning strategies by setting expectations early, using video reflections, and group projects to support my students' critical thinking process.

Active learning allows students to think critically, work collaboratively, and take accountability for their own learning. I plan to use more reflective writing and group work activities in my online courses to encourage participation and deepen understanding.

A course revision is driven by assessment data and feedback to ensure relevance and effectiveness. I plan to apply this by looking at data to evaluate my course.

It is important to use both formative and summative assessments to support student learning. I plan to use detailed rubrics for consistent, transparent assessments so that they align with learning objectives and offer constructive feedback.

Online courses require clear communication, community building, and intentional scaffolding. I plan to apply this by using diverse tools like discussion boards and the course help section.

I learned the principles of a course framework and module templates, and how they support consistency and help to guide learning objectives. I plan to implement these by structuring my course with weekly modules that contain chunked, multimodal content.

I learned that there are effective ways to manage different learner behaviors and reduce attrition in learning. I will apply this by monitoring participation, reaching out to quiet or struggling students, and setting clear expectations for communication and deadlines.

I learned about the importance of designing with intention for online learners, particularly the use of structure discussion boards and providing clear and early feedback with rubrics.
