Creating subcommittees will allow for focused work  to be done withn the advisory. 

It is important to provide opportunity for advisory members to be active particpants in the advisory process. It is also important to clearly uinderstand and define the role of the advisory board. 

It is important to be prepared for any media or interview. Ask to know the questions before hand in order to provide the best answers possible. 

Establishing strong relationships with media outlets, especially local ones, is crucial for promoting Career and Technical Education (CTE). These connections are invaluable for disseminating information about significant CTE events and projects. For instance, local news stations can feature student success stories, highlighting how CTE programs prepare individuals for high-demand careers. Additionally, partnerships with community newspapers can showcase innovative CTE initiatives, such as student-led entrepreneurial ventures or collaborations with local businesses, further demonstrating the real-world impact and value of these programs.

It is important to establish a connection with policymakers when meeting with them and making requests. It was suggested that prior research be done to find commonalities such as interests, hometown, or university attened. 

 

Governtment is a huge entitity. It is best to start at the Grassroots level and adovate for CTE at the local and state levels. 

It is important to remember their a very specific criteria for spending Perkins Funds and asking questions about where and how the funds or being spent. While many things purchased could be linked to CTE that does not garuntee they qualify for perkins spending. 

The rules generally support the goal. Some however related to limits at the middle school level or the inability to cover the cost of elemenraty CTE programing limits the ability to grow excitment and awarness of CTE opportunites for students to older grades where many students may have already begun to choose a potential career path. 

The CTE spepcifc process seems best aligned to mee the needs of CTE teachersa. I believe this approach will help drive imporved instructional practice and content knowledge among CTE teachers. 

I have always heard of National Boards but I have not looked in to it much. I want to continue to learn more and encourage my teachers to apply.
