Yes it is true that we have less time now and seem to be covering the same amount of material. I must say that the best way to cover the material in the time frame is to be as organized as possible. Pre writing the days schedule on the board at the end of the day for the next gives the student a head start on what we will be expecting of them. Hopefully they will review the material the day before so the time can be used as effectively as possible.

Learning disabilities can be taxing on the student and the instructor. However it can also be very rewarding when a student who struggles becomes successful. It can be accomplished with patients and flexibility on the instructors part.

The diverse learner is a type of person who learns in many ways. I think it is important to offer different types of learning such as verbal, tactile, visual and auditory. Without different means of delivery it is difficult to reach a large group of students

Monitoring students is important for an instructor to get an idea of how the students are receiving information and processing it. For some students it is difficult to verbalize to an instructor that maybe they don't understand a concept. Monitoring helps the instructor decide if it is necessary to change the means of a lesson to accomodate more students

I think that when we are not sure of the class content it is difficult to move around and work the room. Making sure there is a comfort level with the information is important for the instructor. Using different methods throughout the lecture makes it easier to move through the room.

Being fair and understanding with students goes along way. Students can have a great deal of stress over grades, so by providing them their graded exams quickly help to decrease this stress.

Course content and learning styles have to be mangaged for all of the students to get the most from the material. when the content is to difficult for some students it might have to be presented a little differently for them to really grasp it.

Having a feeling of anxiety is not always a bad thing for instructors. It pushes us to prepare to alleviate these feelings. If after preparation we still feel uneasy, than maybe we are just putting to much pressure on ourselves.

The best way to deal with challenging student is to interact closely with them. Sometimes they are just looking for attention and for someone to care about the. Of course one student should not take all of an instructors attention, but some need it more than others.

Unfocused students can disrupt the whole synergy of a class. This type of student may need different means to learn and stay focused. Just lecture will put anyone to sleep and make it seem as if they are lacking focus. Sometimes students have outside issues that keep them from concentrating as well.
