Is there an appeal process if the student has a medical excuse for the missed time? Do they have to pay to re-take the course if there are extenuating circumstances?
What is reaction of the students when selected for interview? Do they willingly participate? Are they truthful?

Is this failure because of academic performance, attendance or some other reason? Does a successful appeal mean that the student must re-take the course but not pay for it or that he/she doesn't have to take it again?
I can't agree with your statement that as an instructor you're not involved with the retention process. Instructors are an integral part of any retention program.

Sounds like a great program, Jack! Do you - or the class - ever have to "fire" a coordinator or foreman? Do they have different responsibilities? If so, what are they? Do students "run" for election"? Do they hold the position for the full 27 weeks?
