I loved identifying my personality color and found that I may lie on two different spectrums. I am going to extend this technique to my students in hopes they find it just as exiting as I did. I think it is difficult to put people in a box when you factor culture into the mix, however this was a great start and was more spot on than not.

 

I had brief;y seen the true colors measure but not in detail. So I would have to say that is what I learned most about this module. I am familiar with the other personality scales.

 

When your in an online setting the only way to know how much your student is comprehending is to encourage student interaction and engagement. I have learned further strategies and techniques that help facilitate this type of learning environment.

 

Students need support. Projecting your presences shows students your engagement with the course content and their learning. This is vital especially in an online setting.

 

The importance of getting to know your students. It fosters discussion and also gives them an opportunity to get to know you as well. It builds rapport between you and the student.

 

Make sure to always discuss course objectives as it lays out student expectations for content learning.

 

I enjoyed this course as I saw some teaching styles that are not conducive to an effective learning environment. However some of these styles are being used. I am always looking for ways to improve or to become more diversified in my techniques, considering all students are different as well as their learning styles/preferences.

 

Better strategies/practices to incorporate in online teaching to help facilitate constant student engagement. I currently incorporate in-class activities that keep students interested and include specific information about a current key topic. I think its important to have as many of these activities as possible because there is so much content that students have to retain in a short period of time. Finding real practical scenarios or activities that helps associate the material will have better outcomes in retention for students.
