Student engagement, especially in an online setting, is essential for student retention. 

Students require background information about the instructor to develop test and report. 

In this course I learned that the online delivery method is much different than the traditional on campus method. 

I believe that when delivering course content it is important that we inform students of what is to come as well as what is expected from them. In that way they are able to prepare them for content to be aware of during the lecture/demonstration. 

I have always found that it is a best practice to greet each student at the door in the beginning of class. 

I think that it is obvious to students when an instructor is prepared vs unprepared. We, as instructors can not expect our students to be prepared for class and we dont match that energy or live up to our expectations.
