Meeting the class for the first time I would do an exercise that allows all of the students to become familiar with me as well as each other. Most likely an exercise where we go around the room and introduce ourselves, why we chose the field we did, and what we enjoy to do in our free time. 

Model, manage, and motivate. Setting a good example, enforcing professionalism, and motiving students to do thie best are all great ways to ensure students are being trained correctly. 

Positivity and support will both push students further than just teaching the material alone. Students need support and someone to build their confidence. 

The environment of the classroom determines how the students experience will go. If students are bored or uncomfortable they will not retain much or be as successful as they can be. Creating a comfortable, open, and trusting environment is critical. 

All departments should work together to ensure the students get the best education possible. The students are the reason that we are employed and their success and education should be our first priority. All departments should collectively work together to ensure students are receiving the education that they are paying for. 

Paying attention to the students is so important! I can tell a change in a students mood when I take the time to talk to them, care about them as a person, and inquire about their feelings and opinions. It truly makes a difference. 

Computer literacy is extremely important in education today. This module ties into the previous as so much education is done online. Even brick-and-mortar courses often require students to submit assignments through certain online drop boxes and platforms. It is critical for both educators and students to have excellent computer literacy. 

Students of every level should be improving and growing within their communication and critical thinking skills. Access to education is easier than ever. Being studious and the traits that a successful student portrays is very different now that a great deal of learning can be done online. 

Communication is extremely important when preparing students for the work force and real world. I believe that these basic skills are becoming scarce as many individuals rely on technology for their main source of communication. Group projects, interactive activities, and student presentations are a great way to teach students communication skills. 

This was an interesting module for me. It made me realize the importance of writing skills in a technical education setting. I teach a very hands on program and often disregard the need for good writing skills. I agree that writing on a topic can help the students to better understand and do research on a particular subject.
