Online instructors do not have an "easier" job, in fact it can be more challenging to engage students without face to face interactions

15 minute mini-lectures may be more valuable to the students than an uninterrupted long lecture.

Knowing students names is valuable and helps create relationships that improve their overall learning experience.

In my first round of teaching my course knowing the textbook inside and out has been crucial to understanding what material to prioritize.
