Initiate a communication code of conduct that is clear, concise, and encourages participation.

Online language guidance/rules and assessments by the student and teacher are helpful tools in refining an online course.

The organization, communication, consistency, feedback teachers knowledge, and understanding of online teaching methods/components as opposed to F2F are imperative.

Engagement, miscommunication, facilitation and a safe environment are all keywords!

Your organization, rules, timelines, user-friendly ease and a multitude of teaching abilities and tools must be determined and mastered. Asynchronous or synchronous teaching can be used for different portions of your course.  Understand how you will feel comfortable teaching and understand the needs of the student.

Best practice=Your teaching style/styles combined with your choice/choices of VL tools, along with mastery of both will help you become a positive evolving facilitator and increase the successfulness of a productive student learning environment with an ever-increasing percentage rate of student participation.

Use multiple tools to provide you with feedback that is needed to make critical, meaningful, continuous changes that enhance your online course.

The use of forms of formative and summative assessments with a focus on the use of a rubric, for teacher and peer assessments, are very useful feedback tools. 

The syllabus must be expertly executed and scaffolding has eight very important steps that create a firm foundation for learning.

 

 Consistency is extremely important along with developing a database for ease of references.
