To operate in a modern world, the student has to be able to learn skills that go beyond the technical training that they receive in our classrooms. These capabilities, often termed "people skills" or "soft skills," include, being able to communicate, to listen as a way of learning, have an ethical awareness, and the ability to manage oneself as well as others. Students also need to establish critical thinking and "learn" creative thought.

I learned many useful strategies and tips for managing control in my classroom. I especially appreciated the "Tips" and real world examples.

I learned more about my own classroom approach and techniques I can use to beome more of a "Guide" as an Instructor. There was some genuinely good information and guidance in this lesson.

I always walk through the hall at school with a smile because I believe it makes me more approachable to the students. I will talk to students who are not in my immediated class because it creates community among all of us.
