Shanika, I sincerely believe that every college course should have presentations - it really helps to build confidence in students. Judy Mohammed
Darlisa, This is an excellent technique. Like you, I use probing and I never leave a student without giving some value to his/her response. Judy Mohammed
Reynaldo, I agree. As we have seen, wait time is important. Initially, I use the roster to call names so that I am not calling on the same students. This helps me to leatn their names and I continue to call on all of them. We can also use probing to guide them when they make mistakes. Rather than going to another student, I try very hard to guide the initial student to the correct information. Judy Mohammed
Dennis, It is hardly likely to have a class without diverse cultures anymore. This diversity brings so much more to our classes since we can learn how things are done in other cultures. It is important for us to ensure that everyone is on the same page when it comes to interpretation of material. Judy Mohammed
Chasity, I also like interpretive questions because they challenge students. Students enjoy being challenged and often can give some interpretations that may be new to me. I like learning from students as well and I let them know that. Judy Mohammed
Robert, Good examples! Good examples! Are these questions you use often in classes? Judy Mohammed
Bernie, Good examples! Which do you use more often, open or closed questions? Judy Mohammed
Eva, Good examples! Are these questions planned into your lectures? Judy Mohammed
Melissa, I'm sure they enjoy your classes. This is a good way to use questioning as you develop your material. I may need to attend soem of your classes. Judy Mohammed
FERDINAND, Good examples! Are these questions you use often in classes? Judy Mohammed
