I appreciate the advice to have students do work offline so that they can save the work independent of their Internet connection going out and using that as an excuse to procrastinate.

It is important to remember that criticisms need to use the correct tone to ensure students don't experience damage in the learning process. 

Having students share their biographies is a great way to get to know their strengths and where they may need additional help to thrive in my online classroom.

Structural integrity, navigational simplicity, intellectual interaction, active learner-centered learning must all be in place to ensure an effective, online course is made for students to succeed.

 Organization is crucial. Without logical sequence in each module, things become unclear and learning is halted. With logical sequencing, things build on each other and connections are made. 

Syllabus comes from the Latin "to list" and "table of contents". This is helpful to remember to ensure that students have orderly information in their syllabus to clearly know class expectations.

Asynchronous and synchronous are useful with DE courses as they both provide unique benefits to keep students engaged and in a posture of learning.

The level of interaction is crucial to supplement the quality of media in an online course to see growth in learning happen.
