About me

Hello, I have been a nuclear professional for over thirty years.  I have worked on submarines, commercial reactors, and DOE National labs.  I enjoy treaching as much as I have enjoyed working in the nuclear field.  Every day is a new adventure.

Activity

In any social situation, I hold the hope that any individual who recognizes an opportunity to help another with their struggle would do so.  In an educational environment, I place my trust in the network of professionals who would take my referral of an identified student and provide them with the required resources that I, alone, do not possess.

Opportunities to recognize and respond to students at risk is a responsibility that carries a lot of weight for me.  I want to be able to help as a side function of my normal duties, but so often I feel ill prepared to make informed assessments.  I'm by no means a professional and these are very serious conditions to be an amature.

It's very unfortunate that trauma is so prevalent is all of our lives.  Taking advantage of the students time in school seems a perfect resource to identify at risk students and offer assistance but I worry that the ratio between affected students and proper oversight for their care is too unbalanced.

Learning new ways to reach and teach students is absolutely the fresh air that traditional learning needs to meet the evolving wants of newer generations.  Change is usually good.

Scope and sequence is a long and timeworthy.  A finished project takes years to full evolve.  Keeping assessments of your experiences with the students will serve as the tool to craft this project.

Formative and summative assessments lead to a cleaner dispensation of information.  Stackable certificates is a powerful method of vertical learning and instills a sense of accomplishment and goal attainment.

I learned the importance of structure to the educational process that includes vertical and horizontal emphasis as it has been outlined in bloom's taxonomy.  Application of these steps through structured objectives, outcomes, and evaluation serve to reinforce a proven method of education.

Two great topics, a great welcome and a strong emphasis on safety at all times.

The role of CTE educator has to reach beyond the syllabus to help identify possible hurdles a student may be facing.

I've gained the recognition of a support system that is less judgemental and more collaborative in finding the best methods to serve the students.
