Maria, thanks for your response. I really like your comment about instructors having a positive attitude. I feel this is very important and is a form of leadership by example. Students have enough taking place in their lives without dealing with a disgruntled instructor. Check your attitude at the door and always remember your focus should be on your students and ensuring they have as outstanding of an educational experience and you can offer to them. Well stated Timothy. Can you share a time where you were challenged by a school discipline issue and how you then managed the situation? Any followup information as to the final result of your actions would be most interesting as well. For anyone reading this post, please add your own experiences to this topic. Regards, James Jackson
Sonia, can you provide an actual example of what you mean by enhancing your classroom management by being less sympathetic to the students needs and being more empathetic? Anyone reading this post, please provide your thoughts on this topic. Regards, James Jackson
Alex, you have made a very interesting statement here. How do you define the quality of student? Who makes that determination? I am interested in your leadership style with respect to how you handle a classroom where a wide range of "quality" is experienced in your classroom and by this I am saying how you manage the classroom when "low quality" students are mixed with "high quality" students. Thanks for any information you are willing to share. Regards, James Jackson

Ward, you have provided some great points. First and foremost, I see nothing wrong with letting your students know there is a reason you are the one teaching them. It is always good for students to know you are confident in your skills and knowledge on the subject. Students will however make a game of things if you set yourself up as a "know-it-all". Why even give them such a challenge. Your comment about not knowing everything is spot on and I highly encourage all educators to be totally honest with their students - It is not about knowing everything… >>>

Andre, thanks so much for sharing. I really like how you have brought forward a very important intrinsic motivator for teaching with respect to enhancing your own knowledge of a subject. I find it a crazy gesture that all instructors know everything about their subject area, this is rarely the case. In order to really get to know any subject matter, one really needs to involved thyself in teaching about that subject to others. The process of preparing a lesson plan, evaluating the overall effectiveness of how students learn the desired objectives and then working towards continually improving the delivery… >>>

Andre, can you share some of your techniques with respect to how you help students overcome their self-doubt? Thanks for anything you are willing to share. Regards, James Jackson
Thanks for your feedback Christina. What are some techniques you have used in the past to help students beyond their fear when dealing with the various forms of assessment you use in your class? Thanks for anything you would be willing to share. Regards, James Jackson
Donald, what are some of your intrinsic and extrinsic motivators? I am interested in what drives you as an instructor both internally and externally. Thanks for any information you can share. Regards, James Jackson
Thanks for your feedback Sonia. You are so correct to say that the best instructors will use different delivery methods to reach all of their students. By understanding different delivery methods high performance instructors are better capable of meeting the learning objective needs of their students. Regards, James Jackson
