online learners need to feel they have the support and can get answers to questions when needed.  This makes them more confortable in the online environment.

Using multiple delivery methods during lecture keeps students focused on you as the leader and helps them understand the material better

Making students feel comfortable in class makes it easier for them to absorb the information and give feedback.

I agree with the chech list method while teaching.  There are times that we get so engulfed in our lectures that we forget to cover all the topics for that day.

Leading by example is probably the best method for teaching.

Giving personal experiences during class shows students what real life in the field is like.  They appreciate the real life scenarios we discuss and I give feedback on some of the decisions they bring up.  This helps them to understand all aspects of the field and ways to overcome certain situations.

By using interesting surprises during lecture, I am able to keep the attention of the students and keep them focused on the topic.  Asking them questions throughout the lecture allows me to "wake them up" if they are not followoing along.

Starting class each day with a good greeting and open discussion helps me to engage with the students and understand how they are felling that day.  If I feel a student is having a bad day, I try to enlighten them by using positive things that have gone on in my day or in other student's day.  It shows them that everyone has these bad days and it can be better by trying to focus on the positives that will go on in class.

This session confirms what we have discussed in the past.  Listen to students and understand where they are coming from.  As an instructor/teacher, we must adjust to different learing styles and conform to what is best for esch individual learner (young or seasoned).  Our success is based off of their understanding of the material and thier success.
