Make sense like HIPAA that you can't look at your own information like grades if you are an employee.

I learned about the need to establish dependency to be able to provide parents with information about a student and that info also could be given to parents if it is an alcohol or drug related issue.

I've learned that I apparently don't know much about FERPA as I originally thought. Such as, FERPA violation complaints need to be submitted within 180 days and the institution has 45 days to comply with student request to access educational record.
