Everyday I post on the board what the objective of the day is and how I am going to deliver it.  I'm going to turn this into a learning goals.

I teach Cosmetology at my center.  The state has specific guidelines for this course and internships are not allowed for my students.  However because I am a "licensed" cosmetology/esthetics instructor WBL happens everyday for my students.  I also go beyond that and bring in industry professionals to teach hands on classes to my students.

Learning goals on a note card...I like this.  On the back side they can put steps on how to achieve the goal and use it as a check list. I'm going to do this on the clinic when they are doing practicals.

Learning goals also help set the expectations of the lesson being taught.  I'm going to try this in my next class.  I'll write a formal goal and then have the students rewrite it in a way that helps them understand it.

Set clear learning goals and give them multiple ways to achieve that goal. Which in turn will improve their learning experience

Allowing the students to create class rubrics makes them feel that they are being listened to. Getting their feedback on assessments helps the teacher plan better in the future.

A daily check in can help you access where the student is at in the learning process.  All students learn at a different space.

Teachers need to adjust their teaching style to individual learners.  Not everyone learns the same

Assessments are not just about grades.

I learned that making learning an exciting experience helps the students to retain the content more.  Using real life experience shows the students what real life will look like when they embark on their new path to the career they have chosen.

Working on Norms and groups discussions together helps the student to feel like they have been heard and are apart of creating  a learning experience
