however, getting to know the students, understanding more about their cultures and traditions, is very valuable in making that connection to the students and building a relationship of trust and mutual respect.

Curious about alternative assessment strategies with ELL students being used in college programs yet when national board exams are written, no such accommodation occurs.

Don’t make the assumption that low English skills means low intelligence levels. A lot of my ELL students are highly intelligent. Provide them with a safe and comfortable environment and challenge them.

Guiding the students through problem solving steps will help them to develop this valuable skill and will lead to them carrying on this ability in their future career situations.
