Timothy, Thank you for these strategies of how your students use graphic organizers. I know these ideas will be valuable to other instructors, especially those instructors that are just starting to use them. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Cynthia, Graphic organizers have so many applications that students can make as they work through the course content. I think they are one of the most important tools the students can use and put into their learning "toolboxes". Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Timothy, Good for you in terms of letting your adult learners know results as soon as you can. Adult learners realize the value of being in school and how what is being taught will be helpful to them in their next career step. We need to keep them informed and excited about their future throughout our courses. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Dr. Richard, Being current in content and topic is an important part of ongoing instructional preparation. You have developed a very comprehensive plan for making sure you are sharing the latest content with your students for which hopefully they are thankful. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Cynthia, Students love hearing stories about the career experiences their instructors have had. These stories give a lot examples of application to the content you are sharing with them plus they are entertaining to hear. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Dr. Richard, Good strategy to follow because the other components of intelligence useage are important utilized if the students are going to develop themselves completely. Your field deals so much with the interpersonal and emotional part of human interaction. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Timothy, Good to hear about how you are going to build even stronger connections between your content and the episodic memory of your students. These connections as you have experienced greatly enhance the retention of content by students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Cynthia, It is amazing how different each class is. Good point about how we must adapt and customize our instructional delivery to meet the needs of the current student group. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sharon, I like your use of the term "take ownership". Many students come to school with idea that learning is on us and not them. The culture of entitlement gets into their minds and they don't discipline themselves in terms of learning and skill development. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
LeWando, You have a good flow and change of pace in your instructional delivery. These methods keep the students engaged and moving forward in their learning. Keep up this most effective approach. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
