Activity

Roberto, You use a key work which is realistic in relation to goals. We need to set goals for our students that are based upon the standards of the field that they are preparing to enter. This way they will know the expectations of the field and be better prepared to meet those expectations upon graduation. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Elmer, Good point about student motivation. Seeing the results of their creativity and effort does get them ramped up and excited about what they can accomplish. As the learning leader you are directing these efforts and get to see the benefits of all your hard work. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Discussion Comment
Vanessa, So true and so important. The more feedback we get the more information we have to expand and improve our effectiveness in teaching as you mention. This should be a major part of how we approach our instructional planning effort. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Diana, This is common for all of us as well as our students. When we wear down we need to as you suggest step back and do something a little different in the class to get the energy level back up and we all head to the end of the course. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Andrea, If you try this new approach I know you are going to really like the results you get. Your students are going to appreciate that they get to make application of the new content quicker as well as in smaller segments so they will retain the content at a higher level. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Elmer, Good strategy to follow. Have fun and be creative with the identification of some new activities you can introduce into the class to enhance the learning opportunities of your students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Roberto, I agree. Respect needs to earned by the students and the instructor. Respect is the foundation for the development of rapport and this is an essential component of the learning process. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Vanessa, So true about the contrast between the two types of instructors. We need to strive each time we meet a class to keep our students engaged and focused on what they are going to be taught that class session. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Ana-Maria, I agree about passion and enthusiasm. We need to bring both to our classes each time we teach. We need to always see ourselves as learning leaders for our students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Andrea, I like and use activities like this in my classes as well because they yield great interaction among the students. We have fun, we laugh and then we focus on the class content. This makes learning more engaging. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
