Activity

John, Students like variety and change of pace in their classes. You are providing both in your approach. This will keep them engaged and focused on the content that is being offered. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Gretchen, Like your style. It is their choice in terms of how long the good cop stays around. If they don't follow the course policies and rules then the bad cop steps in. You are very clear as to which cop shows up and when and it is up to them to decide which one they want to spend the most time with. Keep up the good work and stand strong in terms of enforcing the standards of your field. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Michael, Good plan because your students at this point in their education need understand that they are training to be professionals. They need to conduct themselves as professionals and understand the standards and requirements of their field. With your approach you are helping to make the transition from student to tech easier. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Lisa, Let me know how your effort works with your students. Musical students are learners that like rhythm, sequence and order in their learning process. So the more we can help them to have such the higher their content retention will be. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Christine, Great way to approach the classroom. By being passionate about your content and enthusiastic about teaching it you are setting up a situation that engages and supports learning. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Gretchen, The learning environment is such an important part of the total educational process. By reviewing through students eyes the environment we can make adjustments and/or improvements that will keep them focused on the prize at the end of their educational journey and that is career success. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Gretchen, Good point about trying to get a "read" on students when you are teaching an online course. I think your efforts are right on target because you are connecting with them and letting them know you are there to provide any needed support. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Dale, Your approach sounds both fun and engaging. You are helping your students to gain an appreciation for what has been done and how that history (machine)impacts them today. Thanks for sharing this approach with us. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sarah, I think this is a very important strategy. You are able to show the students how they are progressing in their education and where they need to concentrate on improvement. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sarah, Yes it does. In addition knowing their characteristics the you can provide support as needed throughout the course because you understand them better. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
