About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Roxsie, Good point and so true. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Deborah, This is a very important point because I am encountering more and more students that seem to lack common sense. They want a formula to follow that will yield the same results over and over again. As you know from your years in the field, medicine or humans beings for that matter do not respond to formulas. Students need to be able to do reflective and critical thinking as they approach different situations. This will be how they become successful in their field. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Roxsie, Reasoning or "common sense" needs to be a part of every learning experience you provide your students. They will need to be able to reason through and do reflective thinking about situations if they are going to develop into critical thinking problem solvers. The more opportunities to do such the better prepared they are going to be. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
RAJINI, Many students today do not want to put forth the effort required to acquire the knowledge and skills in their area. Personal discipline is essential if they are going to be successful in their careers. They need to understand this early in their educational journey so they can practice it over and over. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Roxsie, I have found them to be great teaching tools plus fun for the students to do. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Zoe, What other motivation techniques do you use with your students? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
