About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Kristina, Bit by bit, part by part that is how you construct an object and you are right about needing to break down the content into management and understandable components. Through repetition and application the content gets stored in the memory of students for use later on. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Courtney, Connecting the dots between math and application is critical. You are doing this so you are increasing the value of the content as well as engaging your students in the process. This is such a valuable part of the educational process. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Melvin, What do you do in your classes to be that motivating instructor? Thanks for sharing about this area. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
James, I use Jeopardy as well for review. My students love to play it and get very competitive with each other. We have a lot of fun and their recall of the content is greatly increased. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sylinda, I commend you for your effort to bring the human factor into the classroom. I know your students appreciate the fact that you care about them and their success. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Melvin, Respect and rapport are two foundational connections that need to be developed with students. Good point. Thank you for making it. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Melvin, Yes, the do. Many have had little or no contact with a supportive authority figure like an instructor. We are helping them to see that they are valued and we are there to help them be successful if they will put forth the effort. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Randall, It is all about "selling" the content to the students and you are doing that through your enthusiasm, passion and excitement about helping them move forward with their careers. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sylinda, I agree. If we Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sylinda, This is important as you develop your instructional delivery. The more you know about your students the more accurate you can be in your instructional activities. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
