About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Dr. Kipp, Like the way you are working to keep your finger on the pulse of your students and their status in the class. This is how you maintain their focus and keep them engaged for the duration of the course. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Dr. Kipp, You are providing some very important opportunities for your students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. The more experiences like this they can have the more confidence they will have as they go out into the work world and start their career development. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robin, Student like variety and change of pace in their learning opportunities. You are providing such with your approach and use of different forms of media. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Dr. Kipp, Thank you for these comments about the value of using group interaction and problem solving as a learning tool. The more skills students have in this area the more prepared they are going to be to work with others out in the workplace. We know that a lot of career success is based upon being able to get along with others in a cooperative way. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robin, Like your approach to "selling" them on their career choice. You are a role model for them and your enthusiasm shows them that they have made the right choice and that through hard work they can become a part of an exciting career area. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Lacy, I find them fun as well. Just started six new classes and I really enjoyed learning about the experiences my students have had. They have done a lot of living in just a few years. Helped us all to develop an appreciation for each other. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robin, I agree because not to have provided them with such experiences is to short change them in terms of the education they are receiving. They need to see the connection between the classroom/lab and the real world. When they do the vale of the course increases greatly. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Chris, What are some ways that you bring your unique instructional style into the classroom? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Roshally, Respect that is two ways, meaning from the instructor to the students and from the students to the instructor sets the stage for the development of rapport. Rapport gets the students engaged and focused on the course. This is when teaching is really a lot of fun. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robin, Great to hear about the help the MaxKnowledge courses have been for you. Keep up the great job you are doing with your professional development and enjoy the success that comes from being a highly effective teacher. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
