Activity

Jared, Really appreciate your words and the value you got from this course. I wish you much success in all your teaching efforts. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Diana, What are some ways that you do this in your classes? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Curt, Thank you for these points about the value of a positive first impression. I know they will be helpful to instructors just starting their teaching careers. It is easy to get caught up in the planning process and forget to make sure that the first impression is a good one. This is a major part of the human factor in teaching. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Curt, You do have a great resource in your syllabus for your course. By having such a plan you can concentrate on how you are going to personalize the lessons based upon your instructional style and the current group of students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Anthony, I want to commend you for your great attitude about how to expand and refine your instructional expertise. This is so important for beginning instructors. I wish you continued teaching success and may you impact the lives of your students for years to come. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Curt, I like the way you have laid out your professional development in terms of refining your instructional style. I think your perspective on this is on target because you will be sharing with your students the latest information and best practices of your field. This sets them up for a much easier transition into the workplace. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
DeAndre, By helping them to develop these skills you are increasing their value on the job market. Their careers will be spent problem solving so the more knowledge, skills and expertise they have in this area the better prepared they will be. Keep up the good work. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
DeAndre, Reasoning and common sense are companions. So the more you help your students to develop expertise in both the better. It can be a challenge at times but the results will be well worth it. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Craig, I agree with you and this is why we need to help our students develop strategies that will enable them to be more effective when they are called upon to do critical thinking. Once they start to see how critical thinking can help them they are going to see the value of what you taught them. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Clare, You hit on all of the key elements of career development. By helping your students to see relevance and application the value of the course content increases greatly. You are making it real for them and helping them to connect their studies to their future. The more this can be done the better because reality is coming their way very quickly and they need to be ready for it. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
