I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Jacqueline, By taking a "read" of your students you are able to more accurately support them as they study. The outlines, discussions and Q&A sessions all help them to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for career growth. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Timothy, By learning this information from your students you are able to more accurately target your instructional delivery to meet the needs of your students. Also, you can help those students that are on the fence in terms of staying in the field to learn more about the field and make it their life's work ore move to another field where they are better suited. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, I do to because I think this information helps me to more accurately provide support to my students. You comments reflect how we need to approach our students after we find this information about our students and I know this information will be helpful to other instructors. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Cynthia, You are right about many adult learners coming into the class with fears of failure. If they find a supportive and welcoming instructor they start to feel much better. After that if they can have some early success in the course they start to gain confidence and then go forward from there. This is a win win situation for everyone. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Carolyn, I think this is going to be a welcome support for your students. Knowing there is someone they can call on and get assistance from as needed to keep up with the learning process is a powerful motivator. I wish you success in getting this up and running. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Pauline, What a great support system you have created for your students. I commend you for your effort in this area because I know your students have a higher level of confidence knowing you there for them to answer questions and provide guidance. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Kimberly, These are all great ways to help students to reset their thinking and get their minds focused on the content being offered. Also you are helping them to see relevance and application through these discussion and hands on activities. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, The more change of pace and variety you can offer the better. You have this plan in place with your strategies and I am sure you have a higher level of engagement as a result. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Liza, This is a good way to keep everyone informed about what the expectations are for the class that day. This also reduces questions because it is plan for everyone to see what will be covered that day. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
