Activity

Cynthia, Well said and a great goal to have. Over coming their fear the first day goes a long way in getting them settled into the course and feeling that they can be successful. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, Very acceptable. This ice breaker has a lot of positive outcomes and gives everyone the opportunity to know at least one other student a little better. I have used this numerous times in my classes and as you have experienced it really gets a new class off to a good start. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, Well said. This is the document that informs and guides the students in terms of how the course is going to operate and what the expectations are. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, I think either of these suggestions would be good for instructors that are striving to increase their confidence and communication skills in front of a class. With just a few suggestions and some presentations the growth in terms of self confidence will be great for such instructors and before they know it they will be at ease sharing their knowledge with their students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
David, Students like variety and change of pace in their instructional delivery. You are providing both with this approach. Having them do a demonstration is a great idea because it helps them to become involved in the class and develop their communication skills. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
David, Way to go in reducing the fear factor for your students. You took something they knew about it and made application to something they were being taught. I am sure this kept their confidence levels high so they could effective learn about gear boxes and ratios. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Shronda, How do you help your students to become motivated? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Shronda, Not sure what this means in relation to the forum question. Will you expand on this? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Herbert, You are blessed to have such a heart for your students. Your mother was right as evidenced by your success in the classroom and with your students. You are bringing the human factor to class with you each and every time it meets and your students relate to that. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, How do you bring your experience into your classes? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
