Hi Stacy, Way to go in establishing the base of understanding for your students. By researching and writing about academic integrity you are showing them it is important to you, the course and their success in the class. Well done. Gary

Hi June, Thank you for your comments about we can engage our students and increase their knowledge retention rate while increasing their program completion rate as well. I to am challenged by the students coming to me without the basic academic skills needed to be successful in my class. It takes some creativity to get them settled into the class while increasing their basic skills to the point of success. Also, thanks for pointing out the misspelling. It got through our proofreaders and took an eagle eye like yours to find. Will get it taken care of immediately. Gary
Hi David, Thank you for your insight and comments about how you are using multiple intelligences in your instructional planning. Thank you also for the recommendation for the "Head First" book series. They are great as you mention and I know will be of much help to other instructors that use them. We are always looking for additional resources that we can use to improve our instructional delivery. Gary
Hi Klaus, I know you are going to develop some keen insight into your students and how to approach them by watching how they function in the classroom. Let me know how your observations work in terms of learning improvement. Thanks. Gary
Hi Jean, This is what "connecting the dots" is all about in learning. You are showing your students that they are learning content and skills that will help them create a future for themselves. The more of this we can do the more motivated they will to complete their program. Gary

Hi Ellory, I teach the same type of course. It is required as a part of their certification process so they come into the class with a bit of an attitude. It is 3 hours in length from 7 until 10 pm. So it is fun to try and engage all of the students in the learning process whether they want to be in the course or not. This lets me be creative in my activities and projects. I really appreciate your excitement about your field and how much you like to teach about it. This makes the job a… >>>

Hi Lynn, This is a good way to get the students into the field and talking with those that are working where they want to be upon graduation. The more realistic information they can get the better prepared they will be to enter and succeed in the field. Also, when you have them do such interviews they bring back to the classroom so much information that they is always a lot of discussion that follows. Gary
Hi Lubna, Good point. The more you know the more comfortable you can be in sharing the information. Keep current and continue to learn and you will grow as an effective and efficient instructor. Gary
