About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Charles, Good way to bring the diverse experiences and backgrounds of your students into a working setting. I like the use of learning groups myself and use them frequently. They really help students to learn how to work with each other as well as to depend on each other. These are two attributes they are going to need when they are out in the work world. Gary
Hi Damon, Good comments about supporting student efforts and helping them to profit from mistakes. Your field gives them instant feedback because once they taste their efforts they know if they got it right or not so they can quickly adjust their methods to make their efforts desirable. Gary

Hi Jocelyne, I really like the way you have adapted your approach to meet the individual needs of students. Since they are working in individual settings on their projects the idea of letting them select their own music puts them in a position where they can keep their focus while completing their work. Their respect for your input is demonstrated by them removing their listening devices while you are consulting with them. Well done. Gary
