Activity

Hi Eulalia, Good strategy for getting to know your students and helping them get comfortable in the class. This way you have started developing respect and rapport from the beginning of the class. Gary
Hi Carrie, I commend you and your college for this new effort. Your students are going to benefit greatly from the knowledge they acquire from this course. Social skills are critical for career success so the more skills they can achieve the better prepared they are going to be upon graduation. Gary
Hi Justine, Good way to bring balance to your instructional delivery while appealing to the different learning preferences of your students. You are on the right track for keeping them engaged and focused on the course. Gary
Hi Victoria, Good point about understanding student needs. We need to learn as much as we can about our students and how we can be of support to them. This will give us insight into how to plan our instructional delivery. Gary
Hi RoQuanda, Well said! We need to offer variety in our instructional delivery so we can appeal to the different learning preferences of our students. Gary
Hi Donna, I think this is a great way to show students graphically exactly where they are. This then should give them an idea of the support they need and the evaluation of the goals they have set for themselves. Thanks for sharing it with us. Will check on Question 3. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Gary
Hi Charlotte, You make a good point with your comments. The more we know about our students the better we can focus in on providing them support. Those that are on the bubble of deciding if this is the career for them due to the influence of someone other than themselves really need our input and support. With our input they can decide that this is the career for them or try to find something that really gets them excited and move into that preparation area. Gary
Hi Tim, Good point about keeping your focus on the students. They are the reason we all of have jobs as well as the opportunity to impact the next generation of individuals that will be entering our respective career fields. Gary
Hi Jessica, That connection between where they have been and why they are there is important. This gives you a frame of reference in terms of how to support your students. The more that we know the more accurate we can be in providing that support. Gary
Hi Victor, Instructors need to keep fresh with their delivery and attitude. You make a good point about how we need to remember to make refocusing a part of our instructional planning. Gary
