About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Hugo, Not sure about your comment. Can you expand on it so I will be able to more accurately understand your approach to multiple intelligences. Gary
Hi Holly, Your description of how you deliver your course content is great. I am sure your students really look forward to your classes. I teach 6 hour block classes so I can really appreciate how hard you are working to keep the students on task for the duration of your courses. Diversity of experiences is the key and you are offering that with your approach. Gary
Hi Holly, Good strategies. The more you offer learning options to students the more engaged they will be. They like, as you know instructional variety which keeps their interest as well as helps them to focused on acquiring the required course content. Gary
Hi Kimberly, Thank you for the comments about the how having knowledge of multiple intelligences of students will enable more accurate instructional planning. You can offer different instructional options to students that target their learning preferences and as a result there will be more student engagement. Gary
Hi Amy, Great point! Students need to feel they are accepted and able to be successful. If they feel such they will be comfortable in the course and contributing to the success of that course to the benefit of themselves and the other students. Gary
Hi Sahbaa, Good point and one all instructors need to remember. We need to be well prepared and excited about our course each time we enter the classroom. Gary
Hi Lorna, Right you are. If an instructor doesn't establish a comfortable and supportive classroom environment then the students are not going to feel like they are a part of the learning process. Gary
Hi Casey, I agree with your approach. The more we can connect the dots between course content and career applications the greater the learning engagement. Thanks. Gary
Hi Deanna, Not sure what you mean by your comment. Can you expand on it some more so I can get the full grasp of your how you approach your classroom in terms of motivating your students. Thanks. Gary
Hi Ibrahim, So true. We set the stage for the level of excitement and enthusiasm that is going to be in the class. So we need to maintain a high level of both each time the class meets if we expect our students to be excited about the class. Gary
