Activity

Ryan, You are offering both application and relevancy to your students as you deliver the content. This really helps to keep them engaged in the learning process. Gary
Ronald , Yes, it does and this is an important teaching technique. When the students are out working in their fields they will be pushed all of the time so the more skill they have in being able to expand their boundaries the greater their success is going to be. Gary
Discussion Comment
Toni, "Reading" students is a skill that all instructors need to develop for the reasons you mentioned. This way you can adapt your delivery to make sure the students are "getting" it. Gary
Joy , So true about the need to introduce new deliveries, content and projects. This keeps instructors interested in the course even when they have taught it many times before. Gary
Jim, They sure can and this sets up the opportunity for the instructor to get the students engaged and focused on the content. Gary
Nicholas, I am sure your are going to see increased engagement with this strategy. Let me know how it works for you. Gary
Mary, So true. A laugh goes a long way in learning. Even working hard in a subject sharing a laugh between and among the instructor and the students helps to reinforce the learning process and keep the brains engaged. Gary
Janet, Good strategy. With the outline your students have the road map for course success if they are willing to put forth the effort required. Gary
Luis, Very true. They need to feel comfortable with what is expected of them and how they can be successful in the course. A well prepared syllabus helps them to focus on being successful while meeting all of the expectations. Gary
Rudayna, Simple yet effective behavior to be a role model for students. We need always remember this as we work with students and delivery instruction. Gary
