Hi Roy: Getting all your resources together, materials, lesson-appropriate talking points (lecture), and media help with the preparation. Getting to your class early, readying the classroom, having your stuff organized, and starting class exactly on time suggest to students you are ready and expect that they will be as well. Hi Roy: Good way to double check all things are in order. The biggest problem I've run into with my faculty is waiting till the last minute, assuming everything they need or depend on will be available. When the run into delays, it impairs the flow of class, and students notice the teacher was not prepared. Experience helps, but also, discipline and order can contribute to preparation more as much as time management. Regards, Barry

Hi Summer: I guess technically testing students at the end of a course would be post testing, but I get your point. Most teachers who pretest are interested not only in where their students are in relation to the knowledge level and preparation, but also they want to review what may need to be tweaked intheir curriculum to enhance the learning experience based on identified weaknesses in student performance.
