Role of instructor personality in delivery selection

Gerard: I mentioned earlier about being natural. This really helps even out the challenge of teaching students new information. Passionate teachers may be able to motivate better, and knowledge, being approachable, assisting with course requirements, and conveying a genuine caring all contribute to a better prepared student. Organized and prepared to teach

Hi Gearard: When students feel the class is organized and the teacher prepared, it will run smoothly, reduce anxiety and build confidence in the instructor, and students are more likey to trust the information given by the instructor. Selecting sufficient course content

Hi Courtney: Boy, I agree. Whenever the opportunity presents, I think students like it when they have a choice in the educational process. They are more willing to do a better job when they are part of the decision making. And, studies show that when students are more engaged, they learn and retain information better and longer. Informing students of status in course

Using pretests as planning tools

Hi Tony: That's one way of using it, true. And it's effective this way. Another use is a non-graded version given prior to the "real" test that counts. In both uses, the teacher benefits by getting a glimpse of what the students know and what ares may need additional emphasis. Regards, Barry

Goal of educating students

Ron: Yes, I've said that myself. I now add transfer of knowledge with a purpose to achieve success in the workplace. I have students who can pass every test, but are unable to hold down or secure employment. I gace them the knowledge but they also needed to be able to apply the skills they learned. Regards, Barry

Hi Ron: It's true they will know, but a big part of sharing information to also assist in showing how to achieve it. Awarding extra credit

Linda: Shool policies often dictate the limits of of what can and cannot be done. Some prohibit EC altogether. Following the course objectives, and meeting the student learning outcomes, there should be little need for extrea credit anyway. Regards, Barry

Organized and prepared to teach

Amy: I think students sense when the teacher is prepared, and it does convey a sense of confidence in the instructor. Students have to trust their instructor knows the material. When course are planned out, and the class moves smoothly, that environment contributes to the motivation for the student to also try their best. Regards, Barry
