Hi David: Well, maybe they'll still be shocked, but it doesn't have to be because they weren't informed of their staus all along the way! Frequent sharing grades or staus does give students information, and also give us the opportunity to show we care by offering encouragement, support, advice, and suggestions for improvement. Hi Adel: Good examples. I think most students can learn to tune into their inner self - their sense, and use them for their benefit both in class and in their personal study time. It takes just a little training and then practice being sensitive to what their body senses are telling them. Regards, Barry

Hi David: Great! I think variety is the key to keeping things interesting. Moving from one form of media to another form helps keep attention and focus, and also stimulates differnt learning styles. Regards, Barry

Hi David: The great thing is often topics the the teacher has been emphasizing is validated by the guest speaker. When students see the real world work setting, it can motivate and inspire student to try harder in class so they can be better employees. Regards, Barry

Hi Marc: "Entitled students" drives me crazy. The only way to show them where they are off is to put them in real work setting situations, (clinical, lab, guest speaker, or field trips) and some of thm begin to see the larger picture and that it's all not about them and just their lives that matter. Hi Marc: The last part of youy post is very important. The more often we can relte whaever topic is being discussed to the real world of work, the more "relevance" the student will see in their current studies. Although more difficult for some studnts to see, the relevance of being a well rounded, educated individual will be better able to achieve a succesful career.
