Hi Caren: Yes, without information, studnts tend to assume the worst, so I agree, providing frequent status updates and showing a caring attitude demonstrates we care and are concerned for the students success in the class. Regards, Barry
Hi Diego: The question teacher has to ask is "do my assessments and test measure the learning the student has achieved?" For skill-oriented classes, that an easier question to answer, more difficult for academic classs. Regards, Barry
Hi John: Yes, we can inform but also show care and concern, lending a sense of approachability that goes along with encouragement, support, advice, and suggestions for improvement. Regards, Barry
Hi John: Good. Giving currnt knowledge is part of it, but also training students to be critical thinkers so they take that information further is part of the goal as well. If we can apply it to a profession or career choice, all the better. Regards, Barry
Hi Diego: Good - comparison from beginning class to final class is a very helpful analysis for teachers. Regards, Barry
Hi John: Yes, students do expect us to have the knowledge, background, and expertise to teach the class. Along with tht comes preparation, time, effort, planning, thought, and consideration how best to present the material These traits don't come without our initiative. They can make the difference between mediocre and awesome! Regards, Barry
Hi Heather: We al have a unique personality and I think it's best to convey that natural, genuine way when relating to students. Trying to emulate another will not be viewed as sincere and students will not receive us as well. Being honest with students will convey more, and they'll see we care about their success. Regards, Barry
Hi Lola: Weekly evaluations are terrfic. I think the more frequent evaluation occur, the better able the student will be to make large and small adjustments to their study and preparation. Regards, Barry
Hi Diego: I think we all have our own version of delivery. One thing in common however is the ability to be honest, sincere, and genuine when we are deling with students. In this environment, classes wll run smoothly, and the teacher will appear natural and comfortable. Regards, Barry
Hi Linda: I think that's terrific and underscores that even recent graduates can be effective resources as a guest speaker. Their enthusiasm, recent experience as a student, and perspective as a graduate can be awesome and inspiring. Regards, Barry
