Activity

Hi Sheila: Students really like field trips. It's something different, but also some students can get really jazzed or informed in a way they wouldn't get in the classroom. Regards, Barry
Hi Katherine: Right! And jus getting by is not our goal. My expectations is that every student will learn all the material the fullest measure they are capable of. Sometimes, some will fall short. But if we're taliking about learning, I serve no helpful purpose in giving additional assignments to alter their grade if they've missed the necessary information. I'm interested in learning, less so about grades. Personnaly, I just plainly avoid EC. I understand policies vay by institutions and teachers. Regards, Barry
Hi Katherine: Good. To contrast, we want to make the class interesting, but we also have a set of objectives that have to be met. I think a key, in part, is to integrate a variety of activities that vary the material delivered, and is most likely to reach all students and different learning styles. Regards, Barry
Hi Katherine: I like this flow! Just to amplify, each teacher will have their own version of doing this. We can't be artificial because students will sense that. Being sincere and honest in our approach with students in an upbeat, positive manner, in ouer own way is like saying "I'm apprachable, willing and wanting to help, and I encourage you to do your best, and I'm here to help you do that". How nice when that happens on a regular basis. Regards, Barry
Hi Katherine: Good. For me, prepared makes me teach better. When I'm organized, I have all the resources and materials I need, I have a plan for delivery, and I'm ready to engage students with questions to check for understanding. Students soon expect "this is how this class goes", so to that end, we can be a sort of role model. Regards, Barry
Hi William: Good. A survey is a varitation of of a pretest. The survey solicits opinion, which may assit in a certain way. A pretest assess prior knowledge, which is helpful in planning lesson and understanding more or less emphasis may be needed in a course. Regards, Barry
Hi William: You're right, frequent face to face time is important. Good, solid encouragement, support, advice, and correction all contribute to assist student conform to the learning required and and skill sets needed for a given topic. Regards, Barry
Hi William: Wonderful! A variation of this exercise is often performed in anatomy and/or physiology classes. It's amazing how much we rely on multiple senses to function in our daily activities. The creative part is to encorporate some of the outcomes of this exercise into the daily lesson plan in an effort to improve retention of essential materail. Regards, Barry
Hi Sultana: Yes - you've described how pretesting can assit the planning for effective and interesting lessons. That's probably one of the more important reasons for doing pre-testing. Regards, Barry
Hi Sultana: When a student graduates and enters the work force, they will everything going for them at the outset. Knowledge, skills, attitude, thinking skills, dress, and attendance and punctuality (soft skills). Whenever we can introduce and reinfocre these important attributes, we're helping them become better prepared for the end product of successful job performance. Regards, Barry
