Hi James: Excellent tenets. I would comment that students can be unfair, subjective, and just plain mean spirited. So, even if I am giving my best, occasionaly I'll have a student that is unable or unwilling to accept my kindness, helpfullness, and interest in their success. But on the whole, most do. Regards, Barry
Hi Andrea: Great. Quizzing each other is a form of teaching - and that has been proven to be one of the best ways students learn, that is, to teach a topic. Regards, Barry
Hi Anthony: Right - it's important to remember there are likely to be various learning styles and levels in any given class. Doing our best to accomodate the bulk of the class should be strived for. Regards, Barry
Hi Francis: I think you are describing the "aret" part of the art and science of teaching. Also, the more natural an instructor is I think the approachable by students they'll be. Regards, Barry
Hi Charles: It's good if you can do an accurate self check - not everyone can. I do think there are basic check points an instructor can use each day to be sure they are on track. Regards, Barry
Hi Rob: Great. The nice thing about online or hybrid classes are the emphasis on chat and discussion forums. I agree, you really do get to know a student in a way that's differrent from the traditional classroom. Regards, Barry
Hi Francis: Great. Not all instructors are willing to be self aware and willing to make adjustments to their style, delivery, manner, or approach to their classes. Good for you. Regards, Barry
Hi Francis: Most media should be viewed as tools. The tool should not be the focus, rather a resource that accomplishes some task. I agree slide after slide can get boring, and the are ways of addressing that. Regards, Barry
Hello Philip: Good. The best back up plan can be initiated almost instantly, used without reliance on the usual resources, and with the information or activity in line with the current lesson. Regards, Barry
Hi Philip: Good use and mix of mutiple media choices. Should provide students with a good variety of learning opportunities. Regards, Barry
