Hi James: All media has its benefits (and down sides). Obviously, some media is better suited for certain types of learning or lesson delivery. Above all, we want to be sure we are choosing the methods that get our message across the best. Sometimes that means trying different things - even if just to experiement to see if something works better in in a given situation or teaching moment. Regards, Barry
Hi Richard: You've made a good point about the ability to exercise veratility in the calssroomj. As tesachers, we often have to wear multiple hats to best serve the situation at present. Definitely, not one size fits all. Regards, Barry
Hi James: I can understand that different individuals will have a diverse approach to their introductions to their class participants dependent on the type of work, school, or training they're involved with. Modifying that approach will be necessitated by the group dynamics or sometimes the course being taught. Regards, Barry
Hi Luke: On course correction can sometimes be hard to receive but it does make for better instructors. Regards, Barry
Hi Luke: You've decribed a good system. Many instructors in these classes do not have the ability to arbitrarily change the grading components or their weight in classes. In these instances just trying to be as fair as possible is about the only option. Good thoughts. Regards, Barry
Hi Luke: Good planning for situations you can sort of count on might occur. A good back up plan also involves planning for when all your planned activies are not available. Then, good back up plans will be put into action and hopefully provide a seamless and productive lesson or session that fits in to daily topic fairly well. Regards, Barry
Hi Luke: I really like the flip cahrt, and relied on it heavily in days past before the electronic media became so abundant. I agree there are features and attributes a flip chart offers that is not duplicated by other types of media. Regards, Barry
Hi Luke: Terrific comments and insights into how you view the significance of influence on student performance. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Barry
Hi Ward: Yeah, noone likes things to appear or be too strict. There is the need for rules, procedures, guidelines, directions, and these can be povided in a non-strict tone that promotes successfullness rather than penalty. Regards, Barry
Hi Sheila: Good personal insights. Thanks for sharing! Regards, Barry
