Hi Chrissy: I like that statement about challenging yourself. It both sets a goal, recognizes improvement may be needed, and there's a willingness to adapt. Good instructors are willing to be open to improvement and change. Regards, Barry
Hi Jeffrey: Great!. Having a finished product can go a long ways to help provide the student with what is expected. I think most students, if they are rightly motivated, want to do the best they can in school. So, showing them what is expected should really help them. Regards, Barry
Hi Jeffrey: Great thoughts!. Planning is so very important. Good instructors want to be able to provide a balanced course that is weighted too heavily just on material they are most comfortable with. So, in that event, some extra work (prparation) may be needed to shore up weaker areas. Over time, a more balanced course will emerge. Regards, Barry
Hi Aimee: Good thoughts. Clear rubrics shoud assure fair and consistent grading. Regards, Barry
Hi Aimee: Yes, and a good back up plan will allow you to pull something off the shelf and be ready to go in worst case scenario (such as no projector, missing books, power out, etc.). Regards, Barry
Hi Aimee: Most instructors have many resources and media choices to choose from, and they all have their place. Our job is to scale down to what will work best for the student to achieve optimal results. Regards, Barry
Hi Aimee: Yes, as instructors, we want to use all our abilities put into action to see the students achieve their best. Regards, Barry
Hi Fortuna: I think your role play would be an excellent example of a good back-up plan because it doesn't rely on technology or too much preparation. Regards, Barry
Hi Fortuna: You got it. There is a lot of media choices to choose from. I think the key is to determine what is needed to be taught and how best to present it given the resources available. Flexibility will keep students interest. Regards, Barry
Hi Peter: You're right, each class seems to have it's own dynamic. Good teachers will do their best to size up the class, and prepare accordingly to provide the best delivery approaches. Regards, Barry
