Hi Nancy: I agree and think that when instructors are just themselseves and real about the course and try not to put too many airs, the students will realte to that realness better than someone who seems aloof, unapproachable, or (ick) just plain unfriendly. Regards, Barry
Hi Darryl: Great. It seems like you're able to use a lot of variety in your classes and that's great. You're more likely to reach the largest group of students by integrating variety into your lessons. Regards, Barry
Hi Stephanie: Adaptation is almost always needed. Unfortunately due to institutional standards, not all instructors get to modify their teaching plan. In these instances, I wonderf if the student are being served fully. Regards, Barry
Hi Leonard: Your ability and willigness to adapt is a mark of a wise teacher. Thanks for sharing.! Regards, Barry
Hi Charlin: Really, easier said than done. If you have the responsibility to develop your grading system, you'll want it to be fair, accurrate, assess the learning you provided, and hopefully, advance the student to different levels of performance and skill. Objectivity and consistency are among these tenets. Regards, Barry
Hi Charlin: I agree that over time, your collections of student feedback should provide you with ideas for activities to use in the classroom, especially for times when what you've planned cannot be accomplished for whatever reason. Regards, Barry
Hi Charlin: Media selection is like chossoing the main course and side disises for a meal - really, unlimited choices. Of course, certain courses are linked in to certain media more than others, but the point is there are many or varieties to choose from. Regards, Barry
Hi Charlin: True, the more you know about yourself the better able you'll be able to mold your class and it's unique dynamics around a sound lesson plan or instructional unit. Regards, Barry
Hi Justin: You're describing a challenging activity many instructors wrestle with to find the right balance. If you're convinced you've accurately assessed their learning, then you've succeeded at least to a satisfactory degree. Regards, Barry
Hi James: Great. Students are often their own best critic. Regards, Barry
