Hi Frederic: Choosing the best media requires an understanding of the student group we're involved with at the time, as it will vary class to class. Engaging students, being creating, making it interesting, and having fun are factors that'll make for better classes. Regards, Barry
Hi Jon: Yes, evaluation is a measure of our successfulness at teaching the required course content. Regards, Barry
Hi Jon: Students have to have a spark of inspiration to realize the benefit of being in class. There are many ways to do this, but I think being enthusiastic, providing interesting presentaions, and using creative media delivery methods can help. Regards, Barry
Hi Jon: Active teachers do add a dynamic learning environment and, as you say, requires a lot of energy for sustained delivery and presentation. Reagrds, Barry
Hi Jon: Focusing on the needs, perspective, and level the student is at gives the teacher much more control over their learning compared to what the teacher wants to provide without regard for the student. Regards, Barry
Hi William: When we're prepared, it is preceded by planning, thought, resource gathering, organization, and being up to speed with the most relevant course content. In your situation it is apparent all of these elements are present. Regards, Barry
Hi Ann: You're right - prepared sets the tone. Of course, the teacher has to back up their preparation with relative and essential content. But that's part of the preparation part. Regards, Barry
Hi Brendan: Measuring student performance assures we are effective in our role as teachers and facilitators of learning. Assessment measures to what degree we've been sudccessful. Regards, Barry
Hi Ann: Good example of using multiple senses. Obviously not every class session is going to lend itself to using all the senses. Some are less obvious (pressure, balance, pain, etc.) but the more senses used the better will be the retention. Regards, Barry
Hi Kristie: Yes - real world opens a lot of eyes. When students can envision themselves in the workplace, they are more apt to want to try to be better students in class. Also, I agree, most schools can't complete with the technical instrumentation students are likey to see at the hospital, so that is always an added benifit to the exercise. Regards, Barry
