Hi Stephen: Good definition.Empowerment through guided learning and applied to their career. Regards, Barry
Hi Rocco: Simple is good as long as it is fair, objective, and measure student performance accurately. Regards, Barry
Hi Damon: In essence when we focus our teaching based on student needs, they will learn more because the curriculum is tailored more individually. Regards, Barry
Hi Damon: Well said. As teachers we are responsible to facilitate that change. Regards, Barry
Hi Damon: I think when students are interested and engaged they're more likely to stay focused. Keeping them busy and letting them participate in the class (like teaching some of it) will keep them focused. Regards, Barry
Hi Damon: I think most teachers would agree that only a small amount of the overall grade should come from extra credit. Regards, Barry
Hi Carl: Guests often bring in a fresh perspective and soemtimes, even new information. I try to cue the guest about what to cover - even "try not to emphasize such and such", or "we want emphasis on such and such". They have an expertise, but we are in control of our class. Regards, Barry
Hi Avalokita: Being ready makes all the difference. When you're organized and prepared, it shows, and the students soon learn they need to be like that as well. Regards, Barry
Hi Laura: Boy that's great. People like to be entertained and it's not innappropriate for the classroom. Sometimes keeping the students interest requires a lot of energy, creativity, and enthusisam on the teachers part to keep the students interest. Regards, Barry
Hi Cindy: True. No down time. A weel prepared teacher will have the timing down and enough material even if the class runs short. Prepared can also mean ready. So, we want to be ready for whatever circumstance we encounter. Regards, Barry
