Hi Cindy: Great story, thanks for sharing with the forum. I think it's true we are all persons first, then professionals from our specific line of work, and of course teachers. These "hats" allow us to bring creativity and variety into the classroom. I think we all can appreciate the benefits of improvement if needed, in order to help our students. Hi Cindy: Good points. We want to be ready, which means we're prpared even if more or less time is needed, discussions go a different direction, or resources become unavailable. Experienced teachers will always have appropriate material ready for unexpected time variances. Regards, Barry

Hi Rose: Certainly, these two reasons are essential. I also think evaluations help the teacher decide if corrections or adjustments to the curriculum are needed in order to assure most students are taught the needed material according to the course objectives. I think student want to know how they're doing, even if it's less than optimal performance. Regards, Barry

Hi Rose: I think culinary is one of the best examples of how senses play a big part in teaching classes. But creative teachers can use mutiple senses in just about any class to improve student retention of information and successfulness in the course. Regards, Barry

Hi Rose: When we're prepared we are ready to offer all that we have in relationship to the topic or lesson at hand, and that's what the student's expect of us. Organizing resources and planning ahead demonstrates to the students we are ready to teach, and also we can be role models of how students should be prepared as well. Regards, Barry

Hi Mardi: Yes, I agree. I think when the teacher takes the time to speak to students regarding their performance, it shows them the teacher cares about thier learning and success in the class. I think it can also reinforce and strengthen the relationship between the teacher and the student. Regards, Barry
