A student with a disability is entitled to equal access to educational opportunities and also protection from discrimination. 

It is good to understand that it is never inappropriate to offer assistance to a student with a disability, but also understand that we should let the student come to us and ask for help and let them decide if they need assistance or not.

E-mailing students with providing them feedback should be done in an e-mail where it is just the student and instructor, other students should not know about another students progress or struggles. Keeping record of discussions is essential. 

It is a great learning tool to ask students feedback on the lesson plan. As mentioned, as instructors we should ask the students if they are getting the learning tools needing to succeed in the course/

A great way to show authority as an instructor is to provide students with a short biography of myself. As far as showing my presence of engaging online would be to communicate with students by sending out notifications of when assignments are due, or important projects.

As an instructor, it is important to have a clear understanding of the online curriculum and the online software for tools.  Be prepared to answer student's questions, so it is important to review the course.

By understanding that all disabilities come in different ways, supporting each students success is essential so that they feel understood and motivated to succeed in the course.

By being a motivated instructor, we can help students stay motivated and help be their support by continuing to acknowledge their growth and progress in the course. 

I had never heard of the acronym REFOCUS, that is a great way to stay on track with the teaching goals!

As an instructor, it is important to stay enthusiastic about the subject of teaching, setting the tone for the classroom with help students stay motivated to do well and pass the course.
