We're really focused on changing the way people see us as just a fallback for students who might struggle in their original schools. We want to revamp our image through better marketing and outreach so that students view us as a cool and exciting choice, not just a last resort.

Our school could improve by helping students build the confidence and tools they need to track their own career readiness progress. It’s also important to focus on teaching them how to develop and apply the skills necessary for success in post-secondary life and future careers.

A strong and active CTE community engagement in my community would involve local businesses, schools, and organizations working together to provide hands-on learning opportunities, internships, and career guidance for students to help them succeed in their future careers.

A CTE facility should connect with local businesses, industry professionals, schools, community leaders, and workforce development organizations to strengthen community efforts.

You could enhance your CTE advisory committees by including more industry professionals, gathering student feedback, offering regular training for members, and fostering stronger partnerships with local businesses.

Programs like after-school tutoring, sports teams, arts and music clubs, gardening projects, and career mentorship could all be enhanced with more community involvement through volunteers, local partnerships, or sponsorships.

When setting up an interview for your CTE facility, it’s really important to pay attention to how things look and come across.

Building good connections with local media is super important, especially when it comes to getting the word out in your community. Local media can be great allies for sharing updates about events, projects, or programs related to Career and Technical Education (CTE). By working with them, you can showcase the awesome impact of CTE programs, share success stories, and reach more people in a meaningful way. Partnering with local media not only boosts awareness but also helps build stronger community support for these essential educational efforts.

If or when you get the chance to speak with your legislator, you’ve got to make every second count. Being prepared and able to adapt your message on the spot is key. It’s all about staying sharp and making your points clear and impactful!

I'm planning to take a hands-on, personal approach to advocate for funding with legislators. My first step will be to collect powerful success stories from students, teachers, and employers that showcase the real-world impact of CTE programs. Then, I'll reach out with a thoughtful email or phone call to introduce myself and share the mission behind my efforts.
