Kelly, Responsive listening is certainly an art. For the benefit of the forum I thought that I would share the key components of responsive listening....1. Look and Lean. This should be your posture when someone is asking a question. 2. Intend to listen. Focus on the question and questioner. Don’t let your mind wander or begin to answer the question before the person has finished. 3. Clarify. Engage the person to make sure you understand the question. 4. Rephrase. Theresa, Good evening, it is important to have a time frame for resolving issues as well as a next step in the process. The more responsive the school is the less likely that students will feel the need to forward the grievance to the school's accrediting body. Cindy Bryant
