Tangi, Hi! This is the position that the USDE took. Originally the Safe Harbors were implemented to protect the student and to allow free enterprise to work effectively. Due to the negative press the USDE determined that consumer rights superseded free enterprise opportunities and well it should be. Cindy Bryant

Keith, Hi! Welcome to the discussion forum. The best answer is always the right one. Telling a student that you will get back with them shows them that you are willing to take an extra step to ensure that they are receiving the correct information. I recommend that you set a date with the student to provide them with the answer, this will help you remember. Cindy Bryant
